The unit of teaching Arabic language to non-native speakers is one of Al-baha university’s endeavours to achieve the goals of the (National Vision 2030), which states that “the Arab and Islamic profundity is a striking force for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.” Furthermore, the importance of the Arabic language, its religious and historical position, and the fulfilment of the university’s educational message are two important factors for establishing a unit specialized in teaching Arabic to non-native speakers. Additionally, it is for the sake of an ambitious nation and a contribution to disseminate the Arabic language Teaching.

The decision of the President of the University, Dr. Abdullah Al-Hussein, to approve the establishment of this unit was recently issued, within the university’s relentless efforts to contribute to the scientific, educational, and cultural role in the development of this exalted and generous country, which includes serving this eternal language, the language of the Holy Qur’an. As Arabic language acts as a cornerstone for the nation's identity and its international standing; the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has always been serving it, caring for its native speakers, and providing support to the people of other nations who wish to learn it.

Undoubtedly, establishing the unit of teaching Arabic language to non-native speakers represents one of the University basic foundations. It came to achieve the University educational message both locally and internationally. We are perfectly aware that Arabic language stands for culture, Arabic, and Islamic civilization. It is a living and modern language with a significantly increased turnout to be learnt for multiple purposes including religious, educational, communicative, economic, cultural, and touristic ones.
