As a response to the national development requirements and the integrative role of the higher education in labor market, the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at Albaha University was established by the royal decree no. 9682/MB dated 05-08-1426H to meet labor market needs in the public and private sectors. The Faculty includes distinguished theoretical scientific departments of Islamic Studies, Arabic Language, Foreign Languages and History. The Faculty is committed to its educational, research and community service responsibilities in accordance with the University vision and the Kingdom educational policies.

OVERVIEW

The Bachelor of Arabic Language and Literature program aims at providing the student with linguistic and literary knowledge, developing his abilities in basic Arabic language skills (reading, writing, listening and speaking), enabling him to acquire sound thinking, criticism and analysis, strengthening his linguistic and literary creations, and communicate with the Arab and human heritage.

The program aims also to provide the student with the skills of active learning sound planning and continuous evaluation, relying on field training with international specifications, and acquire the qualifications of serious scientific research to cope with professional life, and to pursue graduate studies.

PROGRAM MISSION

We aim to cultivate a generation proficient in Arabic language sciences, equipped with academic excellence, practical skills, and research capabilities. Our objective is to meet the demands of the labour market and contribute to community development, all while adhering to national quality assurance standards.

PROGRAM GOALS

  • Providing students with the necessary linguistic skills to enrich their intellectual, cultural, and artistic capabilities.
  • Preparing qualified professionals in the field of teaching Arabic language and literature, for both public and private sectors.
  • Connecting the ancient Arab linguistic and intellectual heritage with contemporary approaches.
  • Involving the local community in organizing lectures and seminars on literary, linguistic, and cultural topics.
  • Equipping graduates with critical thinking skills and creative abilities to contribute to the development and implementation of national plans and visions.
