teacher of the current era, who is characterized by scientific and technical development in all aspects of life, his role is no longer limited to providing learners with knowledge only, but rather his role has extended to forming the identity of the learners, who possess the highest values and skills in science and thinking. To be good, active, participating citizens in their country.
Raising the level of scientific qualification in the specialty for teachers is one of the ways to raise the efficiency of learners, through the knowledge and research experiences that graduate students acquire in terms of knowledge, research, scientific and practical experiences during their enrolment in graduate studies in their field of specialization. This is what the master’s programs in the Department of Curriculum and Teaching Methods seek to achieve, as they seek to create a distinguished elite of specialists in curricula and teaching methods, and to prepare distinguished teachers at the national and regional levels
Introduction
The College of Education at Al Baha University is one of the colleges that emerged at Al Baha University. As for its heritage, it is an extension of the College of Teacher Preparation affiliated with the Ministry of Education, which was founded in the year 1409 AH. The Resolution No. 3514/MB was issued on 3/5 /1427 AH decreeing the annexation of teachers’ colleges, girls’ colleges, and community colleges to Al-Baha University. The Royal approval of the decision of the Higher Education Council came in Resolution No. 10/50/1429 AH, dated 4/29/1429 AH, to restructure these colleges in order to attach them to the university education system, and to be consistent with University objectives, and the name (Teachers College) was changed to (College of Education).
The Department of Curriculum and Teaching Methods is one of the departments of the College of Education, which grants a Master’s degree in Education in the following specializations:
. Master of Education program in curricula and teaching methods of Arabic language
. Master of Education program in curricula and teaching methods of Islamic education
. Master of Education program in curricula and teaching methods of Mathematics
. Master of Education program in general curriculum and teaching methods

Vision
The Department of Curriculum and Teaching Methods at the College of Education, Al Baha University, aspires to prepare teachers through modern academic programs that comply with the standards and indicators of institutional and programmatic accreditation and to contribute to the development and evaluation of curricula in order to achieve quality and excellence in preparing teachers to compete in the labor market, keeping pace with the needs of society and achieving partnership with it.
Objectivives
The department seeks to keep pace with the college’s strategic plan by achieving goals related to the department’s fields as follows:
- Evaluating and developing teacher preparation programs for the various stages of education in light of quality standards and performance improvement.
- Evaluating and developing the curricula and various courses in light of quality standards and performance improvement.
- Evaluating various teaching approaches and methods in light of quality standards and performance improvement.
- Evaluating and developing the department’s educational research in light of quality standards and performance improvement
The objectives of academic advising
֎ Providing the necessary support to students during their academic journey in postgraduate studies by providing information and guidance that contribute to the flow of the study plan and completing its requirements within the required time period.
֎ Follow up on the performance of struggling students to help them improve their levels, in addition to following up on and evaluating the progress reports of the rest of the students.
֎ Helping students to overcome the academic difficulties they encounter, especially new students.
