The faculty of education at Albaha university has been incorporated to the university since its establishment. It used to be named as teachers’ college of education that were directly administered by the Ministry of Education since 1409. According to the decree number 3514/ MB dated on 3/5/1427 and the agreement of Saudi government number 10/5/1429 in 29/4/1429 the faculty of teachers’ Education directly become administered By Albaha University and named the faculty of education.

Bachelor of Special Education


The Department of Special Education at the Faculty of Education at Al-Baha University aspires to achieve excellence at the local and regional level in the field of preparing the specialized cadres academically, educationally and professionally to ensure the development of educational and awareness services provided to individuals with special needs and their families to contribute to achieving comprehensive development and the requirements of the age according to the highest scientific standards.


The department seeks to achieve the following objectives:

  • Preparing human cadres from undergraduate and postgraduate students to become qualified teachers and special education teachers and prepare successful researchers, leaders and administrators.

  • Contribute to the development of scientific research in the field of special education.

  • Provide advisory and training services to governmental and private institutions and diagnosis and training services for children and their families through specialized centers.

  • Provide awareness programs for the prevention of disability and educate the community members on how to deal with people with special needs.

The department also seeks to achieve the following objectives:

  • Scientific and academic excellence.

  • Teacher researcher.

  • Assessment, diagnosis and training


Learning outcomes according to areas of learning in the national framework


  • To remind students of the historical development of people with special needs and the comprehensive concept of disability and determine the proportions of the disabled in society.

  • To list the reasons that may lead to disability as well as the multiple classifications and characteristics.

  • Students should mention methods of measurement and diagnosis of disabilities

Cognitive Skills:

  • At the end of the program, students are expected to have positive attitudes towards disability care, rehabilitation, training and employment.

  • Students should compare modern scientific trends in caring for people with special needs.

  • Demonstrate the ability to communicate with groups with special needs and their families.

  • To show students time management skills in dealing with assignments and activities.

  • Students use the skill of dialogue and discussion.

Communication skills, technical skills and numerical skills:

  • To use modern technological means of communication.

  • Students should use the Saudi Digital Library to obtain the necessary information

Self-Kinetics Skills:

  • Students should describe the various psychomotor skills of groups with special needs.

To distinguish students among groups with special needs using different psychomotor skills.

Potential Jobs

Special education teacher in the Ministry of Education path (Mental retardation- learning difficulties - speech and language disorders) - Special Education Specialist in institutions and centers to care for people with special needs.
