The faculty of education at Albaha university has been incorporated to the university since its establishment. It used to be named as teachers’ college of education that were directly administered by the Ministry of Education since 1409. According to the decree number 3514/ MB dated on 3/5/1427 and the agreement of Saudi government number 10/5/1429 in 29/4/1429 the faculty of teachers’ Education directly become administered By Albaha University and named the faculty of education.

Overview

The Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction is one of the most important programs in the Arab region. It is concerned with raising the level of education as this program link the nature of the current needs and the requirements of the future. It considers the curriculum and teaching methods and the necessary knowledge and skills for schools in the field of education.

Objectives

program (Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction) aims

to prepare specialized cadres capable of dealing with students in all fields of learning, and providing them with educative experiences in terms of knowledge, skills and competencies. The program will focus on achieving the following goals:

Introducing postgraduate students to the most important educational developments related to the field of curriculum and instruction and their multiple applications, and developing their skills in employing the latest technology in the field of education.
Developing the ability of graduate students to understand the theories and approaches related to the curricula, in terms of foundations, planning, evaluation and development.
Introducing graduate students to the foundations of modern teaching, and providing the opportunity for critical study of teaching methods, methods of their application and practice.
Developing the skills of graduate students in the field of designing and preparing educational research to develop the performance of the departments of various educational institutions.
Contributing to the school community service with professional development through courses, seminars and lectures, and providing expertise and advice.
Preparing qualified educational leaders in the curriculum and instruction to lead and manage the educational process.
Qualifying cadres of workers in the educational field and researchers to contribute to solving problems of curriculum and instruction.

Outcomes

Knowledge:

K1. The learner explains all the processes related to the educational curriculum (concepts, foundations, types, planning, design, evaluation, and development).

K2. The learner compares between the teaching approaches and its different strategies and its relationship with theories of teaching and learning.

K3. The learner is familiar with the knowledge related to the foundations, methods and skills of educational scientific research in the field of curriculum and instruction.

K4. The learner develops a deep understanding of the principles, foundations, theories and strategies of teacher professional development.

K5. The learner learns the basics and concepts of educational technologies and their applications in the field of curricula and teaching methods.

K6. The learner becomes acquainted with the various concepts and methods of educational statistics and methods of processing statistical data in curriculum and instruction research field. Skills

S1. The learner employs his knowledge of the types of educational curricula, the foundations of their planning and construction, their design models, and strategies for evaluating and developing them in conducting all curriculum processes, exploring their various problems, and developing appropriate scientific solutions to them.

S2. The learner employs the teaching approaches and strategies and theories of teaching and learning in different educational situations. S3. The learner uses the skills of educational scientific research in exploring and solving problems related to the field of curriculum and instruction.

 

S4. The learner designs scientific plans for the professional development of the teacher in the light of modern trends. S5. The learner integrates information and communication technology into curriculum and instruction.

S6. The learner uses appropriate educational statistics methods and methods to process statistical data in curriculum and instruction research.
