Department of Electrical Engineering
Introduction
The Department of Electrical Engineering at Al-Baha University was established in 2006 as one of the main academic pillars of the Faculty of Engineering and as a scientific center contributing to the preparation of qualified national professionals in the fields of power, electronics, and communications. The department began with a Bachelor’s program in Electrical Engineering, aiming to provide high-quality engineering education that keeps pace with scientific and technological advancements and responds to the needs of the local and international labor markets.
The department includes a distinguished group of faculty members from diverse nationalities and specialized disciplines, who graduated from reputable international universities. They combine strong academic backgrounds with practical experience, enriching the learning environment and enhancing the quality of educational outcomes. The department is also equipped with integrated teaching and research laboratories. These include fundamental laboratories covering core concepts in electrical engineering and electronics, as well as advanced laboratories aligned with the latest technologies in renewable energy, control systems, and communications. These laboratories have been established in cooperation with leading international companies to provide students with high-quality practical experience that simulates real industrial environments and supports innovation and scientific research.
The Department of Electrical Engineering provides a stimulating environment for academic and research excellence. It is committed to offering advanced academic programs and curricula that meet international standards and align with Saudi Vision 2030 in building a sustainable knowledge-based economy. The department also seeks to establish strategic partnerships with industrial and academic institutions and to promote a culture of research and innovation among students, thereby strengthening its position as a distinguished academic destination in the region.
The Electrical Engineering program has received full academic accreditation from the National Center for Academic Accreditation and Evaluation (NCAAA), affirming its commitment to quality standards and institutional excellence and validating its educational outcomes in accordance with international best practices. This accreditation reflects confidence in the program’s quality and enhances the professional competitiveness of its graduates both within the Kingdom and internationally.
Head of Department Message
Dear students of the Department of Electrical Engineering, esteemed visitors,
The Department of Electrical Engineering represents a vibrant academic and research community—one that grows and evolves each day. Since its establishment, we have been committed to cultivating a learning environment that reflects our aspirations: dynamic, opportunity-rich, and deeply motivating. Quality, for us, is not a slogan—it is a daily practice embedded in every lecture, every project, and every decision.
We believe that specialization is not built solely through textbooks but through the convergence of diverse minds. We take pride in our faculty members, who come from varied academic and cultural backgrounds, united by a shared mission: to offer students the very best in knowledge and mentorship. Our laboratories are not merely instructional tools—they are platforms for innovation and experimentation, gateways to the future.
My message to our students: You are in a place worthy of your time and effort. Aspire beyond grades. We are here to empower you—not merely to direct you. We want to hear your ideas, witness your projects, and celebrate your achievements.
The Department of Electrical Engineering is more than an academic unit—it is a story of ambition, written through the dedication of its students and faculty and through our shared belief that education is the foundation of progress and that engineering is the language of the future.
