Dean's Message
On behalf of all members of the College of Science, I am pleased to welcome visitors to our college's website. The College of Science is one of the largest and oldest colleges at Al-Baha University. It comprises four departments: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics. These departments offer a variety of academic programs for both undergraduate and graduate degrees, in addition to playing a significant role in teaching basic science courses for several other colleges within the university.
In alignment with the objectives of Al-Baha University's strategic plan, the College of Science aims to develop and update learning outcomes that meet quality standards and academic accreditation requirements. Consequently, the College is committed to periodically reviewing its academic programs to keep pace with scientific developments, improve educational outcomes, and equip graduates with the knowledge, skills, and values necessary to enter the labor market and contribute effectively to their country.
As a result of these efforts, the Bachelor of Science in Biology program has received full accreditation from the Education and Training Evaluation Commission, represented by the National Commission for Academic Accreditation and Assessment (NCAAA), for the period from January 2025 -December 2029. Meanwhile, the Physics program has received conditional accreditation from NCAAA for the period from January 2025 -December 2026.
In the field of scientific research, the College of Science stands out for its contributions to scientific publishing at the university level. This success is attributed to a supportive research infrastructure that has significantly encouraged and motivated faculty members to publish high-quality scientific research. The College also aims to establish interdisciplinary graduate programs across its departments and in collaboration with other university colleges to meet labor market needs and align with the Kingdom's Vision 2030.
Moreover, the College has not overlooked its role in community service. It has actively sought to create and build partnerships with the community, participating in numerous workshops and seminars that benefit the public.
In conclusion, I hope that visitors to the website will find valuable information about the College of Science, its departments, and its various programs.
Dean, Faculty of Science
