The Arabic Language Department was built in 1430-1431 H as one of the departments of the Faculty of Sciences and Arts, Al Mandaq, which was established in 1430 H.

Arabic Department provides students with varied sciences of Arabic language: the language, syntax, morphology, rhetoric, literature, criticism, phonetics, structure, semantics, and pragmatics due to distinctive academic programs taught theoretically and practically according to study plan based on credit hours.

Guarantee the quality of Arabic language learning/ teaching programs and connect it with other interdisciplinary studies.  

Distinctiveness in preparing qualified cadres in Arabic language who contribute in serving the community, maintaining the Arabic identity of Islamic nation, and developing it due to the requirements of the era.

1. Implant the sacredness of the Arabic language in the students because of its connection with the Nobel Quran and enhance the spirit of affiliation and defense of it.
2. Narrow the existing gap between the community and the standard Arabic language.
3. Connect the students with the authentic heritage on one hand, and support the Arabic identity with the benefit from the modern era information on the other hand.
4. Prepare the male/female graduates, the holders of bachelor degree in Arabic language and its literatures to meet the community needs and to be in line with the labor market.
5. Contribute in developing and educating the community through the linguistic voluntary service as free learning programs of Arabic/non-Arabic speakers: many courses in developing the linguistic taste and improving the Arabic ascription, linguistic correction, diction revision for the advertising boards and signposts, and provide the community with the linguistic consultation.  
6. Prepare qualified academicians for university work through opening postgraduate programs in the future with Allah willingness.
7. Encourage the scientific research and provide students with basic skills of its perfect writing.
8. Enliven the Arabic heritage in the Arabic language sciences and its literatures to benefit from the cultured/educated people in different countries.
9. Contribute in developing the skillful capabilities programs, which the university may hope to carry out such as preparing the preachers, writers, media personnel and others.

Arabic Language

The department guides its students academically through assigning the elite of staff to follow up the students, help them to overcome their academic problems and obstacles to fulfill their study competently, provide them with experience and the scientific views that help them to organize their times to be well- used to obtain the best techniques in study and good learning.

The department endeavors, under the college and university umbrella, to get the Arabic language program accreditation from the National Center for Academic Accreditation and Evaluation.
