The Department of Home Economics is a scientific department that accepts students who have a high school diploma from the scientific section only. The department has two specializations: Interior Design, Fashion Design and Textile Technology.

 The department was established in (1430/1431) - (2011/2012), and then offered a program that qualifies for the bachelor's degree in interior design, In the year 1435/1436, the second specialization was established (Fashion Design and Textile Technology).

To provide a distinct academic educational and research environment in the field of design capable of graduating national cadres with high competitiveness that meet the needs of the current market and able to deal with future environmental, societal variables and modern technologies.

- Prepare specialized cadres in the field of (fashion design, textile technology and interior design) qualified for teaching and equipped with the necessary skills for the field of specialization.

- Providing the appropriate climate for the Saudi girl to work in the field of developmental research and specialized studies in community service in Saudi Arabia in the field of design (interior - fashion design).

- Develop scientific knowledge and the ability to think critically and analyze attitudes and develop creative taste in the field of design for the students of the department.

- Develop the ability to plan and work in groups and develop the spirit of leadership and responsibility of students.

- Work to develop the outputs of the department to become faculties of expertise capable of serving the community and the development of the environment.

- To deepen the national belonging of the students of the department through studying the arts of civilizations and folklore in the Kingdom and the most important characteristics of these arts and how to benefit from them in the field of specialization.

- Develop and encourage the spirit of scientific research among students to use it in the service of society.

- Linking fashion design and interior design to the requirements and requirements of the local Islamic environment with the contemporary global environment.

The Department of Home Economics awards a bachelor's degree as follows:

    - Bachelor degree in Home Economics, Interior Design. 

 - Bachelor degree in Home Economics, Fashion Design and Textile Technology.
