About
Origin:
Department of mathematics was established at the Faculty of Sciences and Arts in 1431-1432 in Almandaq to satisfy the needs of the community in education sector and supply the state organs with qualified mathematic cadres. Mathematics is considered as fundamental and important science in our life, because of various applications in different areas and contribution to the construction of various development plans if God willing.
Vision:
The vision of the Department of mathematics at present, distinct outcomes in mathematics and its applications and to promote scientific research and community service.

Department of Mathematics in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences in Almandaq adopts the following values:

Message
Preparation of highly qualified distinct human cadres and qualified in mathematics and its applications fit together with the labour market in the private and public sectors as well as community service.
Objectives
Department of Mathematics seeks to achieve the following objectives:

1 | Improving the educational process | This means to improve the educational process by introducing a distinctive academic program in mathematics and its applications keep abreast of scientific and technical development and serves the needs of society as well as developing student skills and intellectual abilities. |
2 | Keeping up with scientific program | This means preparing qualified scientific staff relevant with job market and community service. |
3 | Scientific Research | This means to encourage and provide male and female students with basic skills in scientific research so as to improve the educational system and advancement of society and also encourages faculty members to research and publish in good scientific magazines. |
4 | Keeping up with the needs of society | This objective means supporting communication with the public and private sectors to identify their needs and raise the employment rate of graduators. |

Bachelor of Science in Mathematics
Academic Consulting
- Identifying an academic advisor from faculty members to each student since joining the program
Follow-up the academic performance of the student through the Academic counseling Unit in the faculty.
- Providing the student with the advice needed for specialization and employment after graduates
- Providing advice on the personal, social and educational aspects of the student
- contributing to develop appropriate solutions to what may be encountered by the student academic problems, and avoid
the shortcomings in application of the program
Identifying specific office hours in each faculty member's weekly, these hours should be scheduled and announced in a dedicated place, and clear to students, in order to provide academic assistance to students on the stages of the program and the difficulties that may be encountered before, during and after the program.
