Overview
The Department of Electrical Engineering is one of the most important scientific and practical departments due to the acceleration of development in the past decade, whether in the field of production and generation of electric power, electronics and communications, or the field of control systems, making the preparation of future engineers - in three areas - the main objective of the department. In addition, the department works to enhance the skills of students to graduate engineers with high abilities to enter the battles of the government and industrial labor market, both in Saudi Arabia and abroad, which is for the benefit of the country or representation honorably.
Objectives
The main objective of the Electrical Engineering program is to prepare engineers in the field of electrical engineering, capable of designing and analyzing electrical power systems as well as various communication systems with the ability to contemplate all the new ones. The graduates are expected to work as electrical engineers in the fields of electrical power systems, communication systems and automated control through specialized industrial companies in these fields.
Outcomes
Upon graduation, students are expected to be able to:
- analyze and design electrical, communication and control systems
- work with a multidisciplinary team.
- identify and formulate research and problem solving in the field of electrical engineering.
- Understand professional and ethical responsibility in the preparation of the electrical engineer profession.
- Use the techniques, skills and advanced engineering tools necessary to practice the profession.
Potential Jobs
The graduate of the Department of Electrical Engineering has a wide range of employment opportunities in all government and private sectors. Whereas, electricity and telecommunications companies, public and private power plants, and all factories that contribute to the development of the national economy are considered the biggest custodians of these opportunities. Other ministries need electrical engineers to operate and maintain their various facilities. In addition, there are opportunities for graduates to work in the public and private contracting sector.
