Deanship of Quality and Development

The Deanship of Academic Development at Al-Baha University was founded in 1431 and approved by the Minister of Higher Education No. A / 7101 dated 8/6/1431 H, based on the decision of the Higher Education Council No. (15/75/1431H) in meeting No. 57 dated 17/1/1431H, as a Supporting Deanship of the Vice Rectorate of Academic Development and Community Service. The Deanship is considered an important pillar in developing university education and enhancing capabilities and skills of university staff to achieve quality practices and excellence in accordance with international best practices.

About

The Agency for Institutional Ranking and Excellence is an integral part of the Development and Quality system at Al-Baha University and is administratively linked to the Deanship of Development and Quality. The agency is responsible for monitoring the implementation of university ranking and excellence initiatives, contributing to the achievement of relevant academic performance indicators, and promoting practices of academic excellence.

Enhancing institutional excellence and enabling the university to advance in local and international university rankings.

Tasks

  • Supervising the implementation of institutional ranking and excellence policies according to the Deanship’s standards and the university’s strategic plan.
  • Monitoring and analyzing performance indicators at both institutional and programmatic levels to support ranking and excellence efforts.
  • Overseeing the workflow within the agency’s units and periodically evaluating their performance.
  • Preparing and implementing operational and developmental plans for the agency and following up on their execution.
  • Supporting the university’s efforts to progress in national and international rankings and promoting institutional excellence practices.
  • Coordinating with various university units to enhance development practices and institutional ranking.
  • Identifying the developmental needs of agency staff and implementing necessary training programs in collaboration with relevant entities.
  • Preparing periodic reports on the agency’s achievements and projects, and submitting them to the Dean of Development and Quality.
  • Proposing internal regulations, work mechanisms, and job descriptions for the agency’s staff.
  • Monitoring annual staff evaluations within the agency and providing appropriate feedback and recommendations.
  • Executing tasks and assignments issued by the Dean of the Deanship of Development and Quality and following up on related projects.
