The Faculty of Science at Al-Baha University was established pursuant to the Noble Royal Decree No. 9683/M B dated 5/8/1426 AH, and academic study commenced in 1427 AH. The establishment aimed to contribute effectively to expand the higher education base in the regions of the Kingdom in the fields of basic and applied sciences, in a manner that meets the needs of the labor market in both public and private sectors.

The department awards a bachelor’s degree to male and female students in Mathematics. Admission to the program began at the start of the 1428–1429 AH academic year. The department seeks to offer distinguished academic programs in Mathematics to prepare highly competent graduates who contribute to serving society through scientific research and a supportive academic environment. The department also works to introduce a number of interdisciplinary, high-quality master’s programs in collaboration with academic departments in the College of Computer Science and Information Technology and other university colleges.

The department includes a distinguished group of faculty members with a high level of academic and research competence, in addition to their notable contributions to provide various community services. The department is always keen to provide qualified scientific staff, including faculty members, researchers, experts, and technical specialists in scientific and technological fields, to keep pace with scientific advancement in various disciplines. It also aims to encourage scientific research through studies conducted by the faculty members and graduate students, as well as through cooperation with scientific, governmental, and private institutions.
