Faculty of Science

The Faculty of Science at Albaha University was established by Royal Decree No. 9682 / MB dated 5/8/1426 H. The work in the college began in the year1427 H to contribute effectively to the growth and expansion of the higher education in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the fields of basic and applied sciences to meet the needs of the labor market in the governmental and private sectors. Currently, the Faculty of Science at Albaha University has advanced study programs to provide students with scientific and practical skills and knowledge with a focus on the use of modern technologies in four main departments: Biology, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.

Overview

The Department of Chemistry offers a study program leading to the award of a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry. The program was designed to be offered by the College of Science at Al-Baha University. The program enables students to work in various fields, qualifies them to develop their scientific and practical skills, and prepares them to continue their graduate studies and research in various fields of life sciences. The program consists of 150 accredited study units, and the student enrolled in this program must successfully complete (150) accredited study units according to the study plan. Laboratory activities in the Chemistry Department are considered a major and important part of the educational process, as the department has a number of modern laboratories that cover the courses of the department’s study plan .

OBJECTIVES

  • To prepare qualified graduates and researchers' cadres in the field of chemistry, those have an understanding, awareness and ability to solve problems in their field of specialization.
  • To fill the gap between learning outcomes and the labor market's requirements in various scientific and practical fields.
  • To apply modern techniques and theories in chemistry.
  • To participate in conducting scientific research in the field of chemistry.
  • To contribute in solving societal problems related to the fields of chemistry.
