Department of Community Health
Introduction
The Department of Community Health is one of the earliest departments has been established within the Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences at Al-Baha University since 2005. The department offers BSc programme in Community Health – Public Health Path, which aims; to graduate qualified national specialists in Public Health field, to serve the local community, to advances the community health awareness and to contribute in the development of the healthcare and medical services systems.

Graduate public health specialists in partnership with relevant healthcare and government institutions, and to contribute in advancing public health research and community services
Objectives

Graduate specialists in consistent with regional and excellent international standardization, and with noble Islamic and professional ethics.

Provide students with skills and knowledge tools that qualify them to pursue higher studies in the field of public health.

Contribute in developing public health sciences, and the department to become an educational platform at both local and global level in field of public health.

Contribute in advancing local health awareness, and participate in promoting local public health.
Conduct public health research that serve local community.
Programs
The department offers programme of Community Health – Public Health Path, which prepares graduates to work as public health specialist.
Academic Consulting

All faculty members have to announced and hang on their schedules on their office doors. The schedules have included information about the members academic counselling and advising hours, teaching hours, administration hours, and clinical hours.

All students are allocated to academic advisors.

The department provides at least 2 hours official consultation time every week for all students.

Departmental Academic Counseling and Advising Committee is available to assist, facilitate, evaluate, and monitor students’ progress in the curriculum.

Students’ periodic reports for guidance are saved to follow the academic performance of students.

Academic Accreditation
