Professor Ashraf Mamdouh is currently working as a Professor in Electrical Engineering Department. His research interests include statistical signal processing and multisensor data fusion. He is included in the Stanford and Elsevier List of World's Top 2% Scientists for the Years from 2019 to 2024, respectively. He has been awarded the First-Class State Medal of Sciences from His Excellency President of Egypt in 2017, the State Award for Scientific Excellence in Engineering Sciences with honor in 2014, the First-Class State President Medal of Long Service and Good Role Model in 2010, and the State Incentive Award in Engineering Sciences with honor in 2008. He worked as the Editorial Board Director of Al-Baha University Journal of Basic and Applied Sciences (BUJBAS) from 2018-2024.

This course includes: Amplitude Modulation, Angle Modulation: Frequency modulation (FM) and phase modulation (PM), narrowband FM, wideband FM, average power in angle modulated waveforms, generation of wideband FM, demodulation of FM signals, and Analogue to Digital Conversion: sampling theorem, signal reconstruction, aliasing, quantization and pulse code modulation.

This course includes: Properties and characterization of digital signals and systems, Mathematical transforms used in digital signal processing [Z - transform, Discrete Time Fourier Transform (DTFT), Discrete Fourier Transform (DFT), Fast Fourier Transform (FFT)], Digital processing of CTS. Digital filters design [Finite Impulse Response (FIR or nonrecursive) and Infinite Impulse Response (IIR or recursive).
